Hi friend,

Have you ever struggled with feeling like you're not living the life you truly want to live? So often we can get to the end of the day or week or month and look back and realize that we were super busy, but none of what we accomplished really mattered in the long run. It can feel as if life is moving too fast and is passing you by.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, I understand. Just like you, I truly want to believe that I am living the life God intended and that I am being the best wife and mother I can be. I want to feel that in the future I can look back and believe that I created the best life possible for myself and for my family. I want to know that I raised my children to be adults that I am proud to call mine.

I'm living that life now. But, honestly, when I was a new mom it was a bit of a struggle, until I finally realized something that changed my life completely.

And what was that epiphany? It's this...

I am 100% responsible for creating the life I want to live.
It doesn't matter what my husband does or doesn't help with.
It doesn't matter what my parents provided or didn't provide during my childhood.
It doesn't matter if I'm pregnant or feeling good or bad.
It doesn't matter if the baby was up all night sick.
It doesn't matter whether I have enough money or not.

All of those things are just circumstances. I can't change those circumstances, but I can change how I react to the circumstances that life throws my way. How I react and what I believe matters.

When I take 100% responsibility for creating the life I want to live, that life starts to take shape. It may not take shape as quickly as I would like. And what I want that life to look like may change over time. But I, and I alone, am responsible for creating the life I want to live. 

Years ago, I decided that I wanted a large family that all worked together in a family business. That dream took years to make a reality.  But it's here, and it's everything I'd hoped for.
