We love rain when it comes to our gardens, our hay fields, and our creek. But when it comes to the goats?... not so much!

It's a little early to harvest potatoes - but one plant presents us with a surprise early harvest!

We work very hard to give our goats the best living conditions possible. They have access to the woods for most of the day, but they prefer sleeping in the barn at night. And that leads to a LOT of manure that needs to be cleaned daily.

Landon is learning the rules of working in Nonna's garden.
And he's not always happy about them!
Find out which rule he most wants to break.

Teaching the next generation has already begun!
And Landon is a very willing student when it comes to eating strawberries out of the garden. But...
He has a long way to go when it comes to learning his colors. LOL
Fortunately, we had an incredible crop of strawberries this year. This video was taken on May 31st, and we've never before harvested as many berries as we did this year.
Not only did everyone eat as many as they could, but we also shared some with friends and froze (best guess) about 100 pounds.
I'm so thankful for a good harvest of healthy food and loved ones to share it with!

Traditions are super, super important to me. And so I'm always looking for a way to add a new tradition to our family!
Years ago, we started having a weekly homemade pizza night. But over the years, as we moved to the new farm, for some reason, we dropped that tradition.
But it's back!!
And better than ever with the addition of our outdoor wood-fired pizza oven.
Enjoying watching the chaos that is our weekly pizza night!

Gardening takes soooo much time and effort!
So why do I do it?
I have lots and lots of reasons...
And then there is the reason I discuss in today's video!!
PJ & Crew
I have a very large garden and I spend a LOT of my time in the garden.
It's never mostly not a chore, but instead, a time that I look forward to. Gardening relaxes me and gives me a chance to think and pray and plan.
We've been constructing new garden beds and filling them with soil. And because all of the soil has been turned over, all the weed seeds have been exposed and the new beds are full of weeds.
After spending a few hours weeding, I sat down for a break and just thought about how important gardening is to me and how blessed I am to be able to do it on the scale that I do.
I share some of my thoughts during this video.
And while my garden now is beyond gorgeous, there were many years that I gardened in terrible soil without raised beds.
So while you may have garden envy, please let my garden be an encouragement to grow something! Anything! Especially if you have children.
Get your hands dirty and grow something healthy you can share and enjoy with your family.
